So Much The Better ~ Megan Means

So Much The Better is a beautifully written book filled with wisdom, adventure and inspiration. Author Megan Means masterfully composed characters that seem to leap of the pages. I loved how each chapter led into the other evoking a sense of curiosity about what was going to happen transpire.

I read So Much The Better nightly to my ten-year old daughter . I love the wonder filled dialogue it facilitated between my daughter and I. Most nights I read more than one chapter because I found it challenging to put the book down. Both my daughter and I were eager to experience more of the phenomenal writing.

Imagine you live in a place of peace , security and warmth  where each day flows harmoniously into the other one. Then visualize being swept away into a far away land where you are alone and in unfamiliar surroundings.  You feel lost and without hope. Ari the small lion cub in So Much the Better experienced these scenarios. He was living a peaceful existence with his Mother and the Lion pride when he was mysteriously swept far away.  What if you felt your  journey had reached its conclusion and you found out it had only just began? This very thing happened to Ari the Lion .

Author Megan Means created  a website and social media links to to help get the book’s message out to the world on-line. She also created a Curriculum Companion to the book which is offered for free on her website. It includes 21 lessons on character building that are taken directly from the book to help children become their best selves and inspire them to be great leaders.

Let my Light Shine ~ Julie Kinscheck

I recently had the privilege of being introduced to Christian Rock artist Julie Kinschecks music . I describe her music as being  soul warming , toe tapping down home church music. While listening to one of the tracks on the album called Let my light shine, I was transported back to the gospel sings that my grandma took me to when I was a little girl.  I loved how the lyrics in the song
s were so relevant to life . I related to the song I m a mess . Its great to hear music that taps into issues most of us face at one  time or another in our lives.

Julie Kinschecks music made me feel like I was in church listening to a guest singer . It was refreshing to listen to the lyrics which flowed smoothly from one word to another speaking truth into every crevice of my soul ! I love that her music is lively and fun. I think it wocwa-review-crew-disclosure-color-11uld be great to introduce to young children and adults alike.

A Nation Under Judgement: A Nation Apart From God~ Richard Capriola

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands , one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all!

The pledge stated above is one that is familiar to most of us! Do the words still ring true for our country? Do we really abide by the one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for All ?

Is the pledge of allegiance , something we as a country have become comfortable reciting out of routine and not from a place of  truth?

A Nation Under Judgement: A Nation Apart From God challenges the belief of whether or not we are indeed a nation under God or perhaps , A Nation Apart from God. Inside the chapters author Richard

Capriola provides statistics backed up with scriptures from the bible to provide a picture of what A Nation apart from God might look like.

Numerous topics including Abortion, hunger, and homelessness are discussed by giving tragic yet true statistics along with what the bible has to say about these issues! I believe the book was written to wake people up to the fact that our nation is in danger of dire consequences . We as a nation can’t just turn our cheeks to the issues,cwa-review-crew-disclosure-color-11 as if they might disappear if we pretend they are not there!

If you need a wake up call to what is happening in our nation then definitely read A Nation under Judgement: A nation Apart From God. If you are searching for a pat on the back and a book that will make you feel fuzzy and warm then this is not the one to provide you with those feelings. I feel that I have a better understanding of the dire straights that our nation is in after reading this book.

Are You Playing By House Rules ~ Darren and Cara Grant

cwa-review-crew-disclosure-color-11  Are You Playing By House Rules is a Christian fiction book  that entertains and provides thought provoking information to its readers!

When you arrive at the hospital no matter how dire your circumstances are,you expect that the sanctity of your life will be preserved and protected.  Is this always the case at hospitals , that all human life is treated humanely and equal? Is every life treated with the same principles?

The questions I just posed seem to have easy answers ! After reading Are You Playing By Rules , although its fiction I have very different thoughts about whether or not all patients are actually treated equally after all.

The story begins with a socially elite couple who have travelled to the United States to have a liver transplant. Money can not buy time or quality of life but that does not stop the husband of a critically ill wife from trying to buy those precious commodities!

Meanwhile a young woman who is pregnant arrives at the hospital with what seems to be a very bleak outcome stemming from a tragic car accident . She is a perfect match for the socially elite woman who needs a liver.  What happens when a hospital wants to give up and husband refuses to lose faith? It becomes a battle of wills.

I found myself deeply and emotionally connected with the characters and their stories . It was definitely a book that I could not put down. The characters leaped off the pages and into my heart!

Pieces of Me by Dianna Lynn

cwa-review-crew-disclosure-color-11“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”~ Confucius

Are you searching for a light at the end of your dark tunnel?  Pieces of Me was written by Dianna Lynn with the intention of inspiring you to follow your heart, live  your dreams and have the best life possible.

Inside the pages of her book Dianna masterfully guides you through collection of stories she wrote based on her own life experiences.  Each story is filled with inspiration and wisdom.

An aspect of the book that I loved was that it was real and authentic.  Sometimes Jesus uses unique circumstances to meet us where ever we are within our own lives! He even meets us in unconventional ways as he did Dianna .

While I am being careful not to divulge the stories as to spoil the read for you , Jesus even used a psychic to give peace to his precious child! Each glimpse into the stories provides inspiration and wisdom.

Pieces of Me is written in two parts. The first part is titled Life and  the second is titled Lessons. Each story is written to guide you into the knowledge that although life has dysfunction and adversity , hope still prevails and ultimately wins.

In closing my review I wanted to leave you with a quote that I discovered within Pieces of Me.” Make time for quiet moments as God whispers and the world is loud .”

Finding My Voice

Jesus please let my application I am filling out be accepted.  I silently prayed to Jesus as I filled out the online Application to be a part of  the book launch team for When A Woman Finds Her Voice . After  wholeheartedly praying I left the outcome in His hands.

I was ecstatic when upon checking my emails , I discovered that I was accepted to  be a part of Jo Ann Fores Book Launch team for her upcoming book , When A Woman Finds Her Voice!  The voice I had longed to use since I was a little girl was finally going to be heard. Although I was doing a Happy Dance to celebrate my acceptance another emotion lurked under the surface. The emotion was Fear.

Starting with my early childhood, fear had buried my voice deep within me.  There were many times in my younger years when I longed to use my voice . I desired so strongly to be able to trust someone  and tell them what was going on in my life.

Although I had been told throughout my life by teachers, parents and grown ups to speak up if someone was touching me inappropriately. Fear kept my voice silent. With each day ,I lost a bit more of my voice. Eventually I began to speak lies into myself ,such as those things didn’t happen to you and if you tell anyone they will not believe you.

At this point in my story you might be asking yourself, what would keep a little girl from using her voice! As I am typing ,  I am taking deep breaths and silently affirming to myself that its okay to use my voice and tell you why I buried my own voice and spoke lies to myself .

Details are not important , but in this instance help to explain why I had such an intense fear of speaking my truth. Imagine a young child who is trying to fall asleep and someone quietly lays behind her and wont let her get up . She attempted to leave her resting place because something in her soul knew that in that moment things were not going to be good. After attempting to fight and vocalize her displeasure and need for help , her head is violently slammed into her own pillow with the words If you tell anyone I will kill you! At that moment the little girl gave up the losing fight and what should never happen to a little girl happened . That night her innocence was taken and so was her voice.

As you may have figured out, I am that little girl all grown up! I have found my voice and am determined to use it. I feel it is important to use my voice to let women know, they are not alone . That they too can find their voice . Hidden underneath all the pain is a beautiful voice that longs to be heard. Will you bravely step out of your comfort zone and discover your voice that was never meant to be stifled ?

I am linking up with an amazing group of women from Jo Ann’s book launch team. Each of us are sharing how we are discovering and sharing our own voicesJo Ann Fore250472_4899259245238_1863239880_n
